Hi, my name is Louise Lederman and I am the founder of Lotus Counselling & Life Coaching.

 

I am an experienced and compassionate Psychotherapist and Life Coach based in NW London & Hertfordshire, offering both in-person sessions and online therapy across the UK.

 

With over 25 years’ experience working within the charity and mental health sectors, I bring a depth of understanding, warmth, and realism to my work, alongside a genuine belief in people’s capacity for change.​

I provide a welcoming, affirming space for individuals of all ages, cultural backgrounds, sexualities, gender identities, and ethnicities. Many of the clients I support come to therapy feeling unheard, misunderstood, or worn down by long-term challenges — my role is to help you feel seen, validated, and supported as you navigate whatever has brought you here.

It takes courage to make this first step in seeking support and I appreciate the need to find the right person to aid you on your journey.  With this in mind, before deciding if we are going to work together, I recommend that we have an initial meeting, where you can learn more about me and I can start to understand your needs.

I have particular expertise and interest in working with:

  • Women navigating perimenopause and menopause, including the emotional, psychological, and identity shifts that can accompany this stage of life

  • Disordered eating - supporting individuals to explore their relationship with food, body image, and control while working towards greater balance, understanding, and self-acceptance

  • Neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD/ADD, Autism and Asperger's, whether formally diagnosed or self-identified

  • Individuals living with chronic health conditions or persistent pain, and the emotional impact this can have on relationships, self-esteem, and day-to-day life

What to Expect

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to you as an individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Instead, I work at your pace, helping you make sense of your experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with your strengths, especially during times when life feels overwhelming or uncertain.​​

 

During our time together I will aim to increase your level of self-understanding and perspective. This will allow you to deal with problems and issues you may face more effectively. An increased sense of empowerment may be experienced, learning how to relate differently and finding ways to be comfortable with yourself and the people in your life.

 

Mindfulness is particularly useful in managing stress and anxiety and involves some simple yet very effective techniques; these can be easily learnt, but take time to perfect – I can help you practice and learn.​

​

Alongside therapy, I also offer life coaching, supporting clients who feel ready to look forward and work towards meaningful future goals. This may involve gaining clarity about what you want from life or your career, rebuilding confidence, navigating change, or creating a more fulfilling direction that aligns with your values. Whether you are feeling stuck or simply ready for your next chapter, this work is focused on empowerment, choice, and sustainable progress.

 

For me, the most important aspect of therapy and coaching is the relationship between us. I will see you as a whole person, rather than the issues you bring, and hope to empower you to make positive changes in your life at your own pace.
